in the works
In the Works initially started as a crazy idea between two college students who were looking to continue expanding their love for theater post-graduation. We initially expanded our prop rentals by acquiring and making more products, then soon realized our skillsets could be put to better use by continuing to set design and allowing our expertise in that field to expand much further than our own universities.
Gab Poska graduated with a Bachelor of Engineering (BEng.) in biomedical engineering from Stevens Institute of Technology. Joe Bonaventura graduated with a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering from Manhattan College. Together, we create the strong design team of In the Works. Today, we continue to design scenic, lighting, and audio elements for many different types of productions. Lately, we have had the incredible opportunity to share our love for theater with rising youth as technical directors, teaching them all technical elements of theater, from researching time periods, to creating rough sketches, turning those into CAD models, making detailed cue lists, and finally seeing all of those aspects come to life.
